The Dime Novelties (2006) is a full-length, satirical marionette musical,
fictionalizing Harry Houdini's first encounter with a sleazy sideshow
when he was still Erich Weiss, the rabbi's kid.
In 2026, Drew Zimmerman created this version for a single puppeteer to operate live and first performed it at the Haverford Heritage Festival in Havertown, Pennsylvania, using several marionettes built in the mid-80s for regular street performances. The video is a made-in-the-basement facsimile of the live production.
