VERONICA: Life on Earth is either Archaeon or Eukaryote. While their division following life's origins began with enslaving mitochondria, the power house of the cell, over millennia that difference evolved into the presence--or absence--of consciousness. Our language syntax and linear structures abstract experience, posing contradictions and paradoxes that don't burden descendants of the planet's first living creatures!
Eukaryotes, born of the Asgard splinter that created the first superorganism, can map the whole of reality using a language of signs and symbols. Their ability enables creativity, experience of time, and individual initiative. Archaeons see an entirely different Nature, unobscured by the filters and limitations of language. They have a more immediate, and intuitive relationship with the planet, and they can see the physical presence of consciousness in their chief rivals, who look to them like giant, glowing, cooties!
PHILCO: Oh. my god! I just realized: Getty-Luce and his board didn't look like fiends because they were evil! All humans look that way to an Archaeon. Veronica, do I look like a monster?

VERONICA: Well, if you put it that way...
VERONICA: I'm as shocked as you! Until we ran my wavelengths through your projector, I didn't know the human soul looked like something you'd cut out of a fish with a serrated blade! I'd have thought mine resembles a cup of coffee! Let's go have some!
