World Without Men

MUSICAL INTRODUCTION

GASSIUS [standing]:
Peace and justice have blanketed this land
Where women rule as only women can.

Happy the country that restrains its violent men!
Can you blame these gentle ladies
For not wanting that again?

It wasn’t a pandemic or a civil war.
They just woke up one day,
And male rule was no more.

Some believed those cruel and bickering males
Devoured themselves like snakes eating their own tails.

Others guessed that those civic directors
Were making more money in the private sector.

No matter the reason, the women took the reins,
Shaping a city government
That was practical and sane;

A gift women owned since ages forgotten:
Keeping the tastiest delights
And tossing out what’s rotten.

CHORUS
Tired constructs come to naught
When women finally get their shot
What do guys think? Well, of course,
That leading’s a matter of brutal force.

Away with that damn sophistry,
Come join an up-to-date century!
When we need brawn, we’ll give you a shout!
(Though basically that’s what machines are about.)

GASSIUS
What’s the real reason, you’ll likely inquire,
These women rule and men hold their fire?

The answer is simple, though a bit bawdy.
(I shouldn’t want to say anything that's naughty!)

These headstrong women seized their chance
By denying their men sex
And withholding all romance

“Not so much as a kiss,” they swore.
“Until men yield to us,
We’ll yield to them no more!”

Ruled by their natural narcissism,
And unable to squelch their own orgasms,

Men relinquished the levers of power.
It’s said, they resisted for almost half an hour.

And that was how Astropolis gained its rank
Above every other city.
Womens’ temperance we thank!

Making it safe for children and their mothers
To foster peace and justice
And love ‘tween man and brother.

CHORUS
Enter great Astropolis!
A heaven on Earth our city is.
And hear the story of Lisa Strata,
Who faces a test that no girl oughta,

Pursued by a reckless man,
Using every means he can,
Excrucio, the feckless tool,
Who threatens the peace and plays the fool!
